Green Stripe tile
Green Stripe tile collection is inspired by “Green Stripe” (1917) by Olga Rozanova, and her non-objective works tsv'etopis. The most challenging was to copy her technic of color glaze. Rozanova achieves phenomenal “Luminiferous transparency “, so that the viewer gets the emprisiion that a projection of coloured light beam is being transmitted onto white canvas. To achieve the same effect the metallic glazes created through reduction firing used by Mikhail Vrubel in his sculptures is used.

Green stripe tile is a pattern that allows to make multiple different layouts. That makes it perfect to use in the same space without obvious affinities. The old way of glazing is used to achieve similar affects as on the painting it was inspired by. All of them have non-repeating coating due to usage of the metallic glazes created through reduction firing.
One main time and two additional allow to use this tile in the same room. It can be made into many different patterns and make room look bigger oh higher. Different size makes a lot of difference as well. It allows to use it on the floor or ceilings and in different rooms. Due to colour pallet and glazing the colour can change according to light and other objects mirroring.

Green Stripe is created as a decorative ceramics, that can be used both inside and outside. This ceramics are made of porcelain or stoneware. The old way of glazing is used to achieve similar affects as on the painting it was inspired by. All of them have non-repeating coating due to usage of the metallic glazes created through reduction firing.
In this tile I was trying to connect the way tiles were made in Vkhutemas. When you take one tile and make into different patterns. The other important thing was Green Stripe which i want to incorporate into this pattern so it looks elevated and natural like a bamboo forest. Additional tiles needed to be as simple as main one, but add variation. All these tiles are about right mathematical size and structure. All the numbers were countedmany times for it to look perfect

I wanted to make something relevant to Green Stripe, but to be more versatile and have nature vibe. I think it mimics bamboo forest in a minimal way. And I am happy i was able to achieve it. Another challenge was connect with additional patterns, it was important to find the right way for it to be copied. I didn’t want pattern to be to crowded and over ruffle. The patterning should look over calming made in one way, and exploring in the other situation.
